Description
Armstrong 11-AV air vent valve is a high-performance product from Armstrong International, designed for positive venting of air and gases in industrial and commercial liquid systems. This all-stainless steel, free-floating lever air/gas vent valve delivers excellent performance in high-pressure environments and is widely used in HVAC systems, steam processing, ozonated water systems, contact tanks, and other applications. Advanced sealing design ensures reliability and durability, making this valve an ideal choice for corrosive environments.
Product Features
-
Corrosion-resistant all-stainless steel construction: The body and cover are welded from 304-L stainless steel to form a permanently sealed, tamper-resistant unit with no gaskets, providing resistance to internal and external corrosion. The float is made from 304 stainless steel, the lever system uses hardened chrome steel (17-4PH), and the valve and seat are made from 303/304 stainless steel, with 316 stainless steel available as an option for long-term operating stability.
-
High-capacity venting: An elliptical float and high-leverage design provide air/gas venting capacity of up to 115 SCFM (approx. 195 m³/h), making this valve suitable for high-pressure applications.
-
Precise control mechanism: Guided lever action ensures correct valve seating under varying operating conditions. The proven free-floating mechanism is the same design used in Armstrong steam traps and supports liquids with a minimum specific gravity as low as 0.50.
-
High-pressure capability: Maximum allowable pressure is 500 psig @ 100°F (34 barg @ 38°C), with a maximum operating pressure of 400 psig (28 barg). The valve is suitable for high-temperature service up to 500°F (260°C).
-
Certifications and compliance: Complies with CE, CRN, and PED requirements to support safety and international compatibility.

-
Applications: Suitable for hydronic heating/cooling systems, chemical processing, pharmaceutical applications, and industrial gas venting, with particularly strong performance in corrosive media.
Installation and Maintenance Guide
Installation is straightforward: use threaded or welded connections, and install the valve vertically to optimize float operation. The welded design eliminates the risk of gasket leakage. Maintenance requirements are low because of the sealed construction, eliminating the need for frequent disassembly; periodic system pressure checks are recommended. All dimensions are approximate. Refer to certified drawings for precise installation. Other flange sizes and face-to-face dimensions can be customized upon request.
