Spirax Sarco CP10 sensor is a conductivity probe designed for total dissolved solids (TDS) and conductivity control systems. It is a sealed assembly comprising a central stainless steel sensing tip, PEEK insulation, a PTFE sealing ring, stainless steel body, disc spring, and washer. The sensor has a 3/8”BSP parallel thread for installation in a sensor chamber, a 24mm A/F hexagon head, and is supplied with an S-shaped stainless steel washer. The electrical connection is made to an IP65 connector (supplied separately). When fitted with a PT2 cable gland, it can be used with a low-voltage power supply. The components are Underwriters Laboratories certified for use as accessories with BC3150 and BC3250 controllers.

Installation

Note: Do not install the sensor outdoors without a protective cover.

Install the sensor chamber in horizontal or vertical pipework. An isolation valve must be provided in the pipework to allow the sensor chamber to be inspected and cleaned. If a reducing adaptor is required, flow direction is unrestricted. The sensor must be installed horizontally.

TP20 has a threaded connection. Use PTFE sealing tape during installation if required.

CP10 sensor is supplied with an S-shaped stainless steel washer for sealing. Apply PTFE tape to the CP10 thread. After installation, check that the earth resistance is less than 1 Ω. Install the sensor into the sensor chamber and tighten to 60Nm (44 1bf ft).

Install a PT2 cable gland (or another Spirax Sarco cable gland) on the CP10 sensor and tighten it. Note: Ensure that the ambient temperature around the PT2 cable does not exceed 120℃ (248oF).

Install the cable in accordance with BS6739.

Maintenance

We recommend removing, cleaning, and inspecting CP10 at least once a year. The maintenance interval also depends on the quality and usage rate of the boiler water or condensate.

Close the isolation valves upstream and downstream of the system and depressurize the system (or drain the system), then remove CP10.

Clean the sensor probe with soft paper. Clean the insulation with a cloth or soft brush; do not use a wire brush.

Check the insulation and sensor probe for corrosion, damage, and pitting. Replace and reinstall components as required. Tighten CP10 to 60Nm (44 lbf ft).

Note: Use a new washer during installation.
