Description
Spirax Sarco FT46 stainless steel float steam trap (DN15-DN50) features an austenitic stainless steel body and stainless steel internals, an integrated automatic air vent, and flanged connections.
Body and cover castings are produced by TÜV-certified foundries. The trap can be serviced in line without removing it from the pipeline.
The FT46 is fitted with a BP99/32 capsule and is suitable for superheated steam with superheat of 150℃@0 bar g and 50℃@32 bar g.
This product complies with European Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC. An EN10204 3.1 certificate is available; specify this requirement when ordering.
Options

A manually adjustable needle valve (model FT46-C) is available. This option provides steam-lock release (SLR) capability. Contact Spirax Sarco for further information.

A 3/8”BSP or NPT threaded hole can be drilled in the top of the cover for installation of a balance pipe. Specify this requirement when ordering.

A 3/8”BSP or NPT threaded hole can be drilled in the bottom of the cover for installation of a drain valve. Specify this requirement when ordering.
Sizes and Pipeline Connections

Available sizes are DN15, DN20, DN25, DN40, and DN50. When facing the body, flow direction is from left to right for DN15-DN25 and from right to left for DN40 and DN50.

Standard flanges are EN1092 PN40, with flange face-to-face dimensions conforming to EN26554 (Series 1). ANSI B16.5 class150 and 300 flanges are available on request, with flange face-to-face dimensions conforming to EN26554 (Series 1). Bolt holes in ANSI flanges have UNC threads.

Maximum designed cold hydraulic test pressure: 60 bar g. Warning: After the internals have been installed, the trap test pressure must not exceed 48 bar, or the internals may be damaged.

Safety Information, Installation, and Maintenance
For detailed information, refer to the installation and maintenance guide (IM-S02-30) supplied with the product. Installation note: install the trap in the flow direction indicated on the body, and ensure that the float arm is horizontal so the float can move freely in the vertical direction. This product is recyclable and, when disposed of properly, does not pose an environmental hazard.
