Description
Spirax Sarco M70i ISO stainless steel hygienic ball valve for clean service systems is a three-piece ball valve forged from 316L stainless steel and designed for ISO installation standards. The design complies with ASME BPE standards for steam and other high-purity systems, as well as aseptic processes where bacteria and media residue could affect product quality. This valve is intended for isolation service and must not be used for throttling control. Its low-maintenance, hygienic design is suitable for steam, liquid and gas systems, covering applications from vacuum service to high-temperature, high-pressure systems in the pharmaceutical, bioprocessing, food, beverage and cosmetic industries.

Full-bore design: the inside diameter of the connection ports matches the inside diameter of the ball for excellent draining performance.

Forged construction, manufactured from high-quality forged stainless steel ASTM A182 F316L.

Low ferrite content: ferrite content in the body and connection ports is only 3%-5%, helping prevent oxidation.

Designed for automatic welding. The ASME BPE-compliant design meets automatic welding requirements, allowing welding to be performed on the extended tube ends without disassembling the valve.

Automation-ready design with an ISO 5211 mounting pad for easy actuator installation.

Lockable handle. The spring-loaded locking handle allows the valve to be locked in the selected position to help ensure system safety.
Surface Finish
The standard valve has an internal surface finish of 0.5 micrometers Ra (20 microinches). An electropolished internal surface finish of 0.375 micrometers Ra (15 microinches) is available as an option. The external surface has a natural forged/machined finish.

An optional 100mm (4”) extended stem allows the valve to be insulated.

Packaging
M70i is processed and packaged in a clean environment. In accordance with ASME BPE standards, both ends of each valve are sealed with caps, and the complete valve is sealed in a plastic bag to prevent dust ingress.
