Description
Spirax Sarco TD42S2 thermodynamic steam traps feature forged steel bodies and socket-weld connections. TD42S2LC low-capacity models are available in all sizes for draining steam mains and tracer lines.

Standards and Certification
This product complies with European Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC. EN 10204 3.1 certification is available; specify the requirement when ordering.
Size and Piping Connections
Available sizes include ½” LC, ¾” LC, 1” LC, ½”, ¾”, and 1”. All models feature socket-weld connections conforming to ANSI B16.11 Sch 80/BS3799 Class 3000 Ib.

Insulation cover: Helps prevent excessive heat loss and overly frequent operation caused by exposure to low temperatures, wind, and rain.

Integral blowdown valve: The strainer cap can be drilled and tapped 3/8”BSP or NPT for installation of a BDV1 or BDV2 blowdown valve.
Operating Range and Limitations
The product has a prohibited-use zone. During prolonged operation above 425℃, carbon compounds in the steel may convert to graphite. Operation above this temperature is permitted but not recommended for extended periods.

Capacity
Select the correct TD42S2 model to ensure normal operation and extend service life. For steam main and tracer line drainage, select the LC (low-capacity) steam trap regardless of pipe size.

Safety Information, Installation, and Maintenance
For detailed information, refer to the Installation and Maintenance Instructions (IM-P068-37) supplied with the product. TD42S2 should be installed horizontally with a length of falling pipe upstream of the trap. It can also be installed and operated in other orientations.
