Description
Spirax Sarco Fig 12 bronze strainer is a threaded bronze Y-type strainer. The standard stainless steel screen has 0.8 mm perforations. Screens with other perforation sizes and mesh ratings are available, as well as a Monel screen option. The strainer cover can be drilled and tapped for the installation of blowdown and drain valves when required.
Standards and Certifications
This product fully complies with the requirements of the European Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU and will carry the relevant marking where required. Typical test reports for the body and cover issued by the manufacturer are available. All certification and inspection requirements must be specified when ordering.
Sizes and Connections
Available sizes include ½”, ¾”, 1”, 1¼”, 1½”, 2” and 2½”. The connection is threaded, with BSP T Rp (ISO 7-1) or NPT standards available.

Screens: Stainless steel, with 1.6 mm and 3.0 mm perforations; 40, 100 and 200 mesh ratings. Monel, with 0.8 mm and 3.0 mm perforations; 100 mesh rating.

Blowdown or drain valve connections: Valve connection specifications vary according to strainer size. For example, a ½” strainer uses a ¼” blowdown valve and a ¼” drain valve. Different cover drilling sizes correspond to different valve specifications. Refer to the product documentation for details.

Safety Information, Installation and Maintenance

Installation precautions: Install the strainer in the flow direction indicated on the body. In steam or gas applications, the strainer pocket should be positioned in a horizontal plane; in liquid systems, the pocket should point downward. Suitable isolation valves must be installed to allow safe maintenance and steam trap replacement.

Maintenance precautions: The strainer can be serviced in the pipeline after following the applicable safety procedures. Replacing the gasket with a new one at every service is recommended.

This product is recyclable and, when disposed of properly, will not present an ecological hazard.
