Description
Spirax Sarco LP11-4 level sensor is used with Spirax Sarco LCS1350 level controller for on/off level control and alarm applications in steam boilers, tanks, and other vessels.
The 4-probe version is especially suitable for installations with a 3-lamp electronic level/alarm display. The sensor body is grounded through the threaded connection, while the boiler or tank normally provides the ground return path. The sensor can also be used in concrete or plastic tanks by using one probe as the ground connection or by providing a separate grounding rod or plate.
The 4 probes of LP11-4 are removable and can be cut to the required length before installation. Probes must be ordered separately. When a probe is immersed in conductive liquid, an electrical circuit is completed. When the liquid level falls below the probe, resistance increases and a signal is sent to the controller, indicating that the probe is out of the liquid. Note: the sensor must not be installed outdoors without additional protection.

Installation: LP11-4 is designed for installation in a flange or cover with a BSP Rp1 (1” BSP tapered) threaded hole. The thread specification must be stated when ordering. When installed in a boiler or a tank subject to severe turbulence, a protection tube with a minimum nominal bore of 80mm is recommended. Outdoor installations must be protected from wind and rain.

Wiring: Wiring for LP11-4 is simple and direct. Wiring connectors are available as spare parts, and the terminals are color-coded for identification. If the wiring needs to be disconnected, simply open the wiring assembly; it is not necessary to remove the cable gland.

Maintenance: Although boiler water level controls require regular testing, this product requires no special maintenance.
