Description
Spirax Sarco SP7-1 intelligent positioner can control any valve operated by a NAMUR-compliant linear or rotary pneumatic actuator. It ensures precise proportionality between valve travel and the value of the electrical input signal (mA) transmitted to the positioner.
The positioner features a die-cast aluminum housing suitable for outdoor installation. It can be installed on pneumatic actuators with rotary travel from -57° to 57° or linear travel from -28° to 28°. Mounting kits and pressure gauge kits are available with or without the positioner, and the required type must be specified when ordering. It accepts an mA signal as the control signal, with an air supply pressure of 1.4 - 6bar, and can also be used for reverse-acting control.
The positioner has a local communication interface (LCI) and supports HART® communication, with HART®5 or HART®7 available as options. Other options include SP7-11 with a Profibus PA module and SP7-22 with a Foundation Fieldbus module. In addition to the analog position setpoint input, the positioner includes a digital input for activating device control system functions and a digital output for messages such as alarms and faults.
Air Supply
A high-quality air supply complying with ISO 8573-1:2010 Class 3:3:3 must be used.
Applications
The positioner can be used with any NAMUR-compliant actuator, including Spirax Sarco BVA300 rotary actuators, PN1600 series, PNS3000 and PNS4000 series, PN9000 series, TN2000 series, and all other Spirax Sarco pneumatic actuators.

Pressure Gauge Kit
A pressure gauge kit can be selected as required. BVA actuators require an AKR14 mounting kit.
