Spirax Sarco DP27, DP27E, DP27G, DP27GY, DP27R and DP27Y pilot-operated ductile iron pressure-reducing valves feature pilot-operated ductile iron valve bodies. The valves must not be used for oxygen service. Different models are designed for different applications. For example, DP27 is suitable for steam or compressed-air systems, while DP27E is designed for steam systems and includes a solenoid valve assembly for remote switching, timed control and similar functions.

Pressure/Temperature Limits

The product fully complies with the European Pressure Equipment Directive 97 / 23 / EC and is supplied with marking where required. Pressure and temperature limits vary by model. For example, the saturated steam pressure for DP27, DP27G and DP27GY is 17 bar g, while the maximum operating pressure for DP27E is 10 bar g. The minimum operating temperature is 0°C. Consult Spirax Sarco for applications below this temperature. The maximum designed cold hydraulic test pressure is 38 bar g. After internal components have been installed, the test pressure must not exceed 25 bar g.

The product is supplied with a typical manufacturer test certificate. Specify the required certificates and test requirements when placing the order.

Size and Pipe Connections

Available sizes are DN15LC low-capacity models (not available for DP27G and DP27GY), DN15, DN20, DN25, DN32, DN40 and DN50. Threaded connections are available in BSP (BS 21 parallel) or NPT (DN15 - DN25 only). Flanged connections include DN15 - DN50 EN 1092 PN16 and PN25, DN25 - DN50 BS 10 Table H and ASME (ANSI) 300. Other standard connections are available on request.

Safety Information, Installation and Maintenance

For detailed information, refer to the installation and maintenance guide supplied with the product (IM - P100 - 05 DP27G and DP27GY, or IM - P470 - 03 DP27E, DP27R and DP27Y). Install pilot-operated pressure-reducing valves in horizontal piping according to the flow-direction arrow on the valve body. A steam separator and strainer should be installed upstream of the pressure-reducing valve to protect it.

Spare Parts

Common service spare parts are available, including the main diaphragm, pilot diaphragm and pilot valve assembly. Spare parts vary by model. For example, DP27E has a solenoid valve assembly, coil, valve plug and seat assembly, and other components. When ordering spare parts, specify the pressure-reducing valve model and size. Some spare parts are interchangeable, but they are not suitable for the soft-seated pilot and main valve assemblies of DP27G and DP27GY.
