Description

Spirax Sarco Fig36 is a flanged, Y-pattern austenitic stainless steel strainer. The standard stainless steel screen has a 0.8mm perforation for DIN15-DN80 and a 1.6mm perforation for DIN100-DN200. Other perforation sizes, mesh counts, and Monel screens are available. The strainer cap can be drilled and tapped for connection to a blowdown or drain valve as required.

Standards

This product fully complies with the European Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC and can be supplied with the mark upon request.

Certificates

An EN 10204 3.1 material certificate is available when specified at the time of order.

  • Screens

Stainless steel screens: Perforation sizes are 1.6mm (DN15-DN80) and 3.0mm (DN15-DN200); mesh counts are 40, 100, and 200.

  • Monel screens: Perforation sizes are 0.8mm (DN15-DN80), 1.6mm (DN15-DN200), and 3.0mm (DN15-DN200); mesh count is 100.

  • Blowdown or drain valve connection The cap can be drilled and tapped in different sizes for installing a blowdown or drain valve, as shown below:

Safety information, installation, and maintenance

For detailed information, refer to the installation and maintenance guide supplied with the product (IM-S60-18).

  • Installation note: Install the strainer horizontally in the flow direction indicated by the arrow on the body. When used in horizontal steam or gas piping, keep the strainer body in the horizontal plane; in liquid systems, position the body vertically downward. Suitable isolation valves should be installed upstream and downstream to facilitate maintenance and replacement.

  • Maintenance note: Follow safe operating procedures. The strainer can be serviced directly in the pipeline. New gaskets and spare parts are recommended during maintenance.

  • Warning: The cap gasket contains a thin stainless steel support ring. Handle it carefully.

  • Disposal: This product is recyclable and, when disposed of properly, presents no environmental hazard.
