Description
Spirax Sarco Fig 3616 Austenitic Stainless Steel Strainer - DIN material, Y-pattern strainer with an austenitic stainless steel body, integral flanges, and a flanged cover. Standard stainless steel screens: 0.8 mm perforations for DN15 to DN80 and 1.6 mm perforations for DN100 to DN200. Other perforation sizes, mesh ratings, and Monel screens are available. The strainer cover can be drilled and tapped for connection to a blowdown or drain valve as required. The body can also be drilled and tapped for a pressure connection if required.
Sizes and Pipe Connections
DN15, 20, 25, 32, 40, 50, 65, 80, 100, 125, 150, 200; standard flanges to BS4504 PN 16.
Blowdown or Drain Valves and Pressure Connections
The cover can be drilled and tapped for installation of a blowdown or drain valve. The body can also be drilled and tapped for connection to a pressure gauge.

Operating Range
This product has a restricted operating area. Its operating range is limited by temperature and pressure, with specific requirements based on the temperature (℃) and pressure (bar g) corresponding to the saturated steam curve. Refer to the applicable range between 0 - 300℃ and 0 - 16bar g.

Pressure: Before servicing the strainer, consider whether the pipeline is pressurized. Before maintenance, ensure that pressure has been isolated and safely vented to atmosphere. This can be achieved by installing Spirax Sarco DV depressurization valves; see the relevant product documentation. Do not assume that the system has been depressurized even when the pressure gauge reads zero.

Temperature: After isolating the pipeline, allow sufficient time for the temperature to fall to ambient temperature to prevent burns. Wear protective clothing, including safety glasses.

Caution: The cover gasket contains a thin stainless steel support ring. Handle it carefully.
Installation
For detailed information, refer to the installation and maintenance instructions (IM-S60-18) supplied with the product. Install the strainer horizontally in the direction of flow indicated on the body. When used in horizontal steam or gas pipelines, keep the strainer body in the horizontal plane. In liquid systems, position the body vertically downward. Install suitable isolation valves upstream and downstream of the strainer to facilitate maintenance and replacement. Remove all protective materials before installation, slowly open the isolation valves until normal operating conditions are reached, and check for leakage.
Maintenance
For detailed information, refer to the installation and maintenance instructions (IM-S60-18) supplied with the product. When safe operating procedures are followed, the strainer can be serviced in line. New gaskets and replacement parts are recommended during maintenance.
Disposal
This product is recyclable and, when disposed of properly, presents no environmental hazard.
