Description

Spirax Sarco Fig34 carbon steel Y-strainer with flanged connections and ASTM standard materials. The standard stainless steel screen has a perforation size of 0.8mm for DN15 to DN80 and 1.6mm for DN100 to DN200. Other perforation sizes, mesh counts, and Monel alloy screens are available. The strainer cover can be drilled and tapped for connection to a blowdown or drain valve upon request. Low-temperature carbon steel strainers are also available.

Standards

This product fully complies with the European Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC and can be supplied with the mark when required.

Certificates

An EN 10204 2.2 material certificate is available. EN 10204 3.1.B material certificates for the body and cover can also be supplied upon request and must be specified when ordering.

Sizes and Pipe Connections

Available sizes are DN15, 20, 25, 32, 40, 50, 65, 80, 100, 125, 150, and 200. Standard flanged connections are ANSI Class 150 and 300, and JIS/KS 20.

Options

  • Screens:

Stainless steel screens: Perforation sizes are 1.6mm (DN15 - DN80) and 3.0mm (DN15 - DN200). Available mesh counts are 40, 100, and 200.

  • Monel alloy screens: Perforation sizes are 0.8mm (DN15 - DN80), 1.6mm (DN100 - DN200), and 3.0mm (DN15 - DN200). Available mesh count is 100.

  • Blowdown or drain valve connections:

DN15: blowdown valve ¼”, drain valve ¼”.

  • DN20 and DN25: blowdown valve ½”, drain valve ½”.

  • DN32 and DN40: blowdown valve 1”, drain valve ¾”.

  • DN50 and DN125: blowdown valve 1¼”, drain valve ¾”.

  • DN150 and DN200: blowdown valve 2”, drain valve ¾”.

Operating Range

  • Body design conditions: PN50/ANSI 300.

  • PMA maximum allowable pressure: 50 bar g@37.7 ℃.

  • TMA maximum allowable temperature: 398.8 ℃ @37.8 bar g.

  • Minimum allowable temperature: - 10 ℃.

  • PMO maximum saturated steam pressure: 50 bar g@37.7 ℃.

  • TMO maximum operating temperature: 398.8 ℃ @34.8 bar g.

  • Minimum operating temperature: - 10 ℃. For lower operating temperatures, consult Spirax Sarco.

  • Designed maximum cold hydraulic test pressure: 78 bar g.

Materials

  • Body: carbon steel, ASTM A216 WCB.

  • Cover: forged steel A 105N for DN15 - DN50; carbon steel ASTM A216 WCB for DN65 - DN200.

  • Cover gasket: reinforced exfoliated graphite.

  • Screen: stainless steel, ASTM A240 316L.

  • Bolts: stainless steel, ASTM A193 B7.

Installation Notes

Install the strainer horizontally in the direction of flow indicated on the body. When used in horizontal steam or gas pipelines, keep the strainer body in a horizontal position. In liquid systems, the body should be positioned vertically downward.

Warning

The strainer cover gasket contains a thin support ring. Improper handling may cause personal injury.

Disposal

This product is recyclable. Proper disposal will not create an environmental hazard.
