Spirax Sarco MPC1M, MPC2M and MPC2AM high-efficiency compressed air filters/regulators provide high-quality compressed air and precise pressure control for pneumatic actuators and general-purpose systems.

This series consists of high-efficiency coalescing oil filters/regulators with self-relieving capability. The compact miniature design, self-relieving function and extremely high efficiency deliver more than 99.95% efficiency in D.O.P. testing. Oil carryover is less than 0.0255mg/m³ (0.02ppm), and 100% of water is removed at line temperature. The products feature polycarbonate bowls, black anodized external surfaces, particle filtration efficiency of 99.96%, and inlet dry-pressure drop reduced to 1.5psi d.

Applications

Used to provide high-quality compressed air in applications with particularly demanding compressed air quality requirements, including machine-tool air bearings, air measurement equipment, instrument air supplies, jet systems, breathing air and pneumatic positioners.

Important Notes

• Only MPC1M is suitable for hazardous-area environments. MPC1M does not generate an increase in temperature or an ignition source during operation and is classified as outside the hazardous-area restriction scope.

• Standard pressure gauges must not be used in hazardous environments. Use the pressure gauge supplied with Spirax Sarco positioners to correctly set positioner inlet pressure.

• MPC2M and MPC2AM must not be used in hazardous environments.

• Local regulations may restrict use of this product below specified conditions.

Note: S = standard configuration; OE = optional extra; - = not available. For MPC2M and MPC2AM complete assemblies, selecting a tamperproof cap with locking seal as an optional accessory is recommended.

• FK21 mounting kit: Used to mount MPC_M on Spirax Sarco PN series pneumatic actuators. An aluminum mounting ring must also be specified.

• Type 8 mounting bracket and mounting ring: Used for general mounting. A galvanized mild-steel bracket and aluminum mounting ring must be specified together when ordering.

• Optional pressure gauges: Two sizes are available (1½” and 2”), with three pressure ranges (0 - 2 bar, 0 - 7 bar, 0 - 11 bar, corresponding to 0 - 30 psi, 0 - 100 psi and 0 - 160 psi). Specify the size and pressure range when ordering.

Performance Selection (Primary Pressure 10 bar)

A maximum recommended air flow rate is specified for each primary filter pressure. Maintaining flow within this range ensures that filter-element performance remains at a high efficiency level, particularly for removing oil and water contaminants. Operation above this range may reduce oil-removal efficiency.

Specify the required quantity, size, type and any options. Unless otherwise specified, the filter/regulator is supplied with a 0.7 - 9.0 bar g control spring and a polycarbonate bowl with drain.
