Spirax Sarco PF6 stainless steel pneumatic piston-operated on-off angle valves are two-way valves for steam, water, air, oil and gases. A pneumatic signal applied to the actuator piston opens or closes the valve, while the piston provides spring return. Standard models and models with flow regulators are fitted with a valve position indicator. The standard version uses a PTFE stem seal suitable for temperatures up to 180°C. An optional high-temperature (H) stem seal is available for temperatures up to 190°C.

Actuator Sizes and Operating Configurations

Three actuator sizes are available: Type 1 (45mm), Type 2 (63mm) and Type 3 (90mm). Operating configurations are as follows:

• NC (normally closed): flow passes over the seat, from 1 to 2. Note: not recommended for applications where water hammer may occur.

• NO (normally open): flow passes under the seat, from 2 to 1. Suitable for liquid applications to help prevent water hammer.

• BD (bidirectional flow, normally closed): for special liquid applications requiring bidirectional flow and water hammer protection. Flow passes under the seat, from 2 to 1. Note: to prevent water hammer in liquid applications, when flow passes over the seat, from 1 to 2, pressure must not exceed 1bar g.
