Description

Spirax Sarco TD25 thermodynamic steam traps are designed for low-capacity steam mains and trace heating lines, as well as other applications where pressure, temperature, and capacity remain within the specified limits. Maximum operating pressure: 25bar g.

Available Models

3/4” TD251511020000
1” TD251511025000

Sizes and Pipeline Connections

1/2”, 3/4”, 1” BSP or NPT threaded connections. DN15, 20 and 25 flanged connections EN1092/ISO7005, PN25.

Options

Insulating cap: Prevents excessively frequent cycling caused by excessive heat loss when the steam trap is exposed to low ambient temperatures, wind, or rain.

Limits

Maximum body design conditionsPN40
PMA maximum allowable pressure40 bar g
TMA maximum allowable temperature400°C
PMO maximum operating pressure for saturated steam25 bar g

Cleaning or Replacing the Strainer Screen

Loosen the strainer cap with a wrench, remove and clean the strainer screen, and replace it if damaged. During reassembly, insert the strainer screen into the cap and screw the cap back into the body. Apply a small amount of molybdenum disulfide lubricant to the leading thread section, ensure gasket faces are clean, and tighten the strainer cap to the recommended torque.

Disposal

This product is recyclable. Proper disposal does not present environmental concerns.

Spare Parts

Pressure disc set (set of 3), strainer screen and gasket, insulating cap, strainer cap gasket set (set of 3).

Installation

Install the steam trap preferably in a horizontal pipeline with a short drop leg upstream. An isolating valve must be installed to allow maintenance and replacement. A suitable method should also be provided to verify correct steam trap operation, such as a sight glass or Spiratec system. Sight glasses must be installed at least 1m downstream of discharge-type steam traps. Where the steam trap discharges into a closed condensate return system, install a check valve downstream to prevent backflow. Remove all packaging and protective caps, and ensure all connections are clean and unobstructed. Open the isolating valve slowly until normal operating conditions are reached to prevent system shock. Check the steam trap for leakage and correct operation. Always use appropriate tools, safety precautions, and protective equipment.

If an insulating cap is fitted, remove it first. Then loosen the cap using a standard wrench. Do not use an adjustable wrench or pipe wrench, as this may damage the cap. If the disc and seat surfaces show minor wear, use lapping compound and lap the disc and seat separately in a figure-eight motion. If wear is excessive and cannot be repaired by lapping, machine and polish the seat surface. Note: Install a new disc. Lapping depth must not exceed 0.25mm. During reassembly, position the grooved side of the disc against the seat face and tighten the cap. No gasket is required, but suitable high-temperature anti-seize grease should be applied.
