Description
Spirax Sarco SG13 brass sight glass is a serviceable multi-window sight glass with a cylindrical viewing window and threaded connections. It is designed to monitor downstream discharge from steam traps in pressurized condensate return lines. The sight glass can be installed directly into a steam trap body as a standard inspection system, eliminating the need for screwed pipe connections and reducing connection points and potential leaks. It can also be installed in a pipeline to observe flow direction.

Sizes and Pipe Connections
½”, ¾” and 1” male BSP/BS 21 threads with female connections, or male/female NPT threads in accordance with ANSI B 1.20.1.

Safety Information, Installation and Maintenance
For detailed information, refer to the Installation and Maintenance Instructions supplied with the product (IM-S32-04).
Warning: In some applications, condensate can dissolve the sight glass, particularly when the water contains corrosive alkaline or acidic substances. Regular inspection of the sight glass is therefore recommended. If any thinning is observed, replace the glass immediately. Wear safety glasses to protect your eyes when viewing the sight glass. Take appropriate measures to ensure that broken glass does not injure personnel or damage equipment if the sight glass fails.
Installation: Connect the sight glass directly to the steam trap outlet using the threaded connection. Although the sight glass can be installed in any orientation, it must be aligned with the direction of the steam trap.
Disposal: This product is recyclable and, when disposed of properly, does not present an environmental hazard. However, if the temperature exceeds 315℃ during disposal, the PTFE gasket may decompose into hydrofluoric acid.
